HOW STUDENTS DRESS TO SCHOOL IN OSUN STATE - NIGERIA

The State Governor of Osun State has transformed public schools dress mode to be religious .#RepYourReligion

Five students of Baptist High School, Iwo in Osun state appeared in school today wearing church garments.

Daily Trust learnt that the students who were allegedly children of some Christian clerics wore the clothes in line with the directive of the Osun State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

CAN had few days ago given the directive to protest the judgement of the Osun State High Court that permits female Muslim students to wear hijab during school hours.

The appearance of the students clad in various church robes caused confusion in the school as other students who wore school uniforms mocked their colleagues in church garments.

Aside Baptist High School, Iwo, students in other schools across the state dressed in their regular school uniforms.

In a chat with Daily Trust, a female Muslim student at Baptist High School, Osogbo, Miss Nafisat Oladepo said she preferred using beret instead of hijab, adding that nobody has compelled her to use hijab.

Also, a Christian student, Miss Blessing Agboola, said she was okay with her beret and that she has no plan to wear church garment to school as directed by CAN.

However, in separate chats with our reporter, two female Muslim students Miss Ganiyat Badmus and Miss Hismot Adigun who used hijab said it was part of their regular dressing, stressing that they could not go out without hijab for whatever reason.
